  1. The Canva website disclaimer on templates seems to contradict what you and many others are saying. It says “ Unless it’s a template created for use on Canva, you can’t use the Pro content in templates of any nature, including templates for websites, social networking websites, documents, projects, or otherwise for distribution and/or sale to third parties.” this seems to me to be saying that you cannot sell or even giveaway templates of any kind even those created by you from scratch. Am I misunderstanding something?

    1. Hi Marci,

They have changed that page a little bit. The previous page had more specific details.

The page you’re referring to is saying that “Unless it’s a template created for use on Canva,”. And all you do is sharing the link to the template with other Canva users.

To do that, you need to make sure that the templates you’re creating are created by you. All free content you’re using will be available on Canva for every free user. You’re selling the template only (It would be not an existing one in Canva’s library). As a Canva user, anyone may use elements, including the images and fonts. It’s good to use free content on your templates because every user is not a Pro user.

I strongly recommend you to read their license pages if you’ve got a doubt about what you’re planning to create and sell.
